Friday: We’re heading north of Boston to Woburn where we are partnering for the day with David’s World Famous Diner, 30 Commerce Way. Find us there from 11:30-3.

David started his business as a food truck! He now has the diner and a catering business, that’s, well–world famous!

We’re getting quite a few requests for more information on how this Request-a-Visit would work. I’ve answered quite a few by email, but will post here as well.

Where or how far will we travel? South to Milton, Quincy, Braintree, Canton, Dedham, Norwood, Westwood; West out to Brookline, Needham, Wellesley, Waltham; North out to Somerville, Medford, Malden, Melrose, Winchester. If you’re not in these areas, just ask–you never know.

How does it work? We do require a parking lot or driveway to be able to pull in off the street onto private property. If you have that then email us with an estimated amount of people (so we know how many to bring–we don’t want to run out), tell us the day you would like us to visit and we’ll get back to you to schedule a timeframe. We can do 2-3 stops a day so we would most likely be able to fit you in on your requested day. Once we arrive we’ll either Tweet or your contact person will send an office-wide notice or you’ll just see us drive in! and your employees and neighboring businesses will come and buy cupcakes!

What kind of cupcakes will we bring? We will have a selection of 5-6 to choose from and, by all means, requests can be made for a particular flavor.

What is the pricing? Cupcakes are priced at $3.00 each and we offer a deal of 1/2 dozen for $16.50.

Can we request a day other than Thursday? Yes, if Thursday doesn’t work for your office, we’ll work with you to find a day that does.

Last Monday I posted that starting in February we’ll be making workplace visits because “we know it’s cold, we know it’s snowy” etc. etc. Well, it’s not that cold, it’s clearly not snowy, but it is winter and we love nothing more than putting a smile on people’s faces with cupcakes!

Have to say, lovin’ this weather (hope I don’t jinx it!)–perfect for a visit to your workplace where, after getting your cupcake, you go back inside your warm building, make a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy your afternoon treat. Soooo, starting in February we’re trying something new. We’ll be coming to your workplace! Let’s call it Request-a-Visit-Thursday. All you have to do is request a visit, give us an idea of about how many folks may be interested–just a rough idea–we won’t hold you to it (we just want to make sure we bring enough), pick a time frame (11:00; 12:00; 1:00; 2:00; 3:00) and most importantly have a parking lot or somewhere that we can pull in off the street. Why Thursdays? It’s a great cupcake day! We have something else planned for Fridays . . . stayed tuned. If Thursday absolutely doesn’t work for you and your mates, let us know and we’ll see if we can work something out for another day.

In conjunction with climate week, Brookline is holding a one-day only winter farmer’s market on Saturday, January 28th, 11-2 in the Department of Public Health Building (how fitting), 11 Pierce Street–that’s in Brookline Village near the Pierce School just off Harvard. We’ll be there along with other local food vendors as well as a host of smart eating and health living professionals and organizations. Hope you can find time during your day to pay a visit!

We’ll be at our first new location this Friday: 220 Clarendon Street, in the Copley Square area. Should be a little warmer on Friday so we’ll plan on 12-3 but as always, please check Twitter and Facebook for up to the minute changes. We’ll no longer be at the Heminway St & Forsyth location and we’re sad to say goodbye to our Northeastern friends and supporters. As we try to find new locations we’ll post and keep you updated. Our usual Stuart St (on Wednesdays) and BU Morse (on Tuesdays and Thursdays) remain the same, but the weather may have a big impact on us getting out.

I hope you all had joyous celebrations over the last few weeks. We had a restful week to reflect on the past year of highs and lows and are making plans for this new year.

We’re looking at changing some locations, maybe adding some additional ones and we’re excited to bring out a winter menu to help keep the doldrums away.

But (there’s always a but, isn’t there?) realistically it is January—winter—so we’re preparing for freezing temperatures and snow, and although we’re hardy New Englanders (and hardy west coast Irish) sometimes our ability to get out on the street may be hindered by Mother Nature. We don’t have heat on the truck so we may have to shorten our outings to whatever is bearable.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your patronage and support and we wish you all a very happy, healthy, and prosperous new year!!
